If I could give ATT a negative rating, I would. It’s shocking how little regard ATT seems to have for its customers. Throughout my recent experience, I have encountered misleading sales tactics, a complete lack of accountability, and an outright refusal to address my concerns—despite providing clear evidence.
It all started when a senior sales associate, Tam Nguyen, visited my home and convinced me, through deceptive promises, to switch three of my lines to ATT. Tam assured me that ATT would cover all transfer costs, which led me to break my contract with my previous carrier. This resulted in a $600 bill that, unsurprisingly, ATT refused to cover, leaving me stuck with the expense. I was then forced to port my numbers back to the original carrier.
During this process, ATT failed to activate the lines correctly, and within the first month, I received a bill for $171.89. I immediately contacted Tam, who assured me that his manager would resolve it and credit me. However, once I left the country for two months, communication with Tam completely stopped. Despite my repeated follow-ups, he ghosted me entirely.
Upon my return, I visited a local ATT store, where I presented all of the evidence of my communication with Tam, including his business card. To my dismay, the store directed me to call customer support, passing the buck rather than taking any action.
Calling ATT support was even worse. Despite multiple attempts and over an hour wasted on each call, my complaints were disregarded, and no one was willing to review the evidence I had painstakingly gathered. The customer service representatives shrugged it off as "Tam's issue", and ATT refused to take any responsibility—despite the fact that Tam is a senior associate representing the company. The consistent message I received was that it was my fault for trusting an ATT employee.
This entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. After multiple failed attempts to escalate this issue, it’s clear to me that ATT has no interest in resolving customer problems, let alone addressing deceptive practices within its sales team.
I will be porting all my numbers away from ATT and warning others to stay far away. This level of indifference and dishonesty is unacceptable for any company, let alone one as large as ATT.

I brought my own phone and said I…
I brought my own phone and said I wanted a month to month but when I canceled they told me I was clear and owed nothing and my phone would be shut off on the 15th and it was, but then the next billing cycle came and they still charged my account and won't refund my money even though they shut my phone off and I never used it for the month they are charging me.

Do not get ATT
I had ATT through my apartment complex for 3 years and it was horrible. No bad weather or anything weird to mess with the internet but internet would randomly stop working 1-2 times a week and come back up. It was the most frustrating this ever!
I’m glad I’m out that apartment and with a new internet provider who I’ve had no random downtime in months. Do not get them if you’re a huge gamer and need fiber. Please pick someone else! My internet was going out late at night for days and no one gave me an answer why.

Utter Disrespect for Time and Money of Customers
A representative, Robert R. and phone number 516-806-8199, pulled me aside while I was shopping at Target to switch my phone plan to AT&T and trade in my Iphone 14. I followed every direction, was apprehensive about the trade in, and never received a box in the mail for the 30 days following activation of my new phone. 1-2 weeks after I activated my new phone, I called Robert stating I still had not received a box, and he said that it should be sending within a few days. After a couple weeks, I never received a box, and he reached out to AT&T for assistance with no response. Come to find out, I went in person to an AT&T store, called customer service and spoke with a representative there, only to determine that my trade-in profile was never created. I was completely unaware of this situation, despite calling and texting Robert multiple times. Now I can no longer trade in my old phone and missed a $1000 promo as discussed during my purchase. So, if an AT&T representative stops you at Target, do not give them the time of day.
